Picnic Goodbyes "Picnic Goodbyes"- This is a photo I took of my Sister(Laura--fourteen years old) It was taken in Co.Laos as we were driving out the gates of Electric Picnic, It was her first festival. It was like She was saying goodbye out the window and reminiscing on the amazing weekend She had and there was a hint of sadness in her eyes that it was over. It felt like a moment to capture, saying goodbye to a great weekend!!

Bees1 Bee's building hive in Long Beach in June of Last year. I seen the bees flying under a small piece of roofing over a door in my backyard. When I looked under I saw the bee's leaving one at a time but never leaving the hive completely alone. I took multiple pictures but this one is my favourite because I feel like the bee on top of the hive has seen me and is waiting to see what happens, a stare off in you will.

Christ at night The reason I took this photo was for an assignment we were given at my local camera club to capture a night time shot. I took the photo in my local graveyard with my Sony NEX-3N using the 16-55 kit lens. I took the shot at F3.5 , 2sec exposure and ISO 400. I used a mini tripod low to the ground and used a flash light on the subject to get my focus. The original photo came out very dark so I used photoshop to increase contrast and sharpness. Hope you enjoy.
andrea olivo After a breathtaking sunset walk at the Phoenix park. Going back home in almost complete darkness with the camera inside my bag and then I hear what I thought where human steps only to kind of see the deers being interrupted by us walking, less than 100mts away they started slowly avoiding us by walking away and giving us this amazing moment. 100 0069 A nest of Peregrine Falcons were perched about 20m in an alcove at the side of Inniscarra Dam in 2003 . One of the chicks attempted to fly from the nest but just made it to a nearby ledge where this photo was taken . Sadly they have moved away in recent years .

This tree is drawn on one of the walls at the Girls Club which is based at 26 St Pauls Avenue in Cork City and each hand represents a person or family who has been touched in some way by Cancer. Some hands represent survivors, some represent people who have passed over and others represent volunteers and each colour represents a different type of cancer. DSC04188 'Shipwreck Cove' On recent visit to the Greek island of Zakynthos, I captured this photograph. After quiet a difficult scramble over loose rock and dense vegetation in mid 30's degree c heat, leaning precariously over a steep cliff-face, the prize that I was presented-with will always remain with me for the rest of my life. This photograph was originally captured by a photographer called Stavros Marmatakis in 1980's when he was staying in a house in the neighbourhood and expressed interest in the area and especially the Cove. He made his way to the cliff-top, where I captured my photograph and captured the scene with the wrecked ship called "Panayiotis" at the inaccessible Bay of Spirili. The only way to get onto this bay is by boat, but as he did find a way across the cliffs, so did I and the result is a shown.

IMG 1229 The boardwalk of Djouce Mountain lies on a segment of the longer Wicklow Way. The plan, spontaneously formed after waking up at 2am the first night in Ireland from jet lag, was to hike the 51 kilometer stretch from Marlay Park to Glendalough by nightfall and bus back the next morning. Fortunately, when checking the weather for rain, I glossed over a minor detail, that there were 40-60mph winds blowing in the opposite direction of where I was heading. The walk became a pretty onerous one about a third of the way in. After a particularly excruciating two-hour, two-mile climb in buffeting winds, an endless stretch of raised boards came into view, with large pools of rainwater on either sides. Wind blew from the side in sporadic gusts, making the boardwalk stroll a test of reflexes, leaning into the wind when it presents itself and straightening up when it leaves to avoid falling into the waters below. The situation together with the alien landscape made for a memory I will never forget.

Dark hedges Last summer my wife and I decided to go to the northern part of Ireland - we wanted to visit counties Donegal, Antrim and Down. Before holidays I read about a few interesting places in this part of the island. One of them was the iconic place called 'Dark Hedges'. I saw a few photos of this place, so I decided to go over there and take my own photo of it. We were in a place called Bushmills and we wanted to take photos of the town and its distillery. Unfortunately, that day I saw the biggest rain in my life! That meant that we could not take any shots in the town. So I said to my wife that we should go 11 miles from Bushmills and see what the Dark Hedges look like. When we reached the Dark Hedges it stopped raining. There were no people around, so I took my Canon 5d MII with 70-200mm f/2.8, put it on a tripod, installed an ND8 filter and shot a few times with different aperture. At home I chose the photo with f=9 and 4-second exposure, because these two values gave me the best picture with absolutely fantastic contrast and sharpness! For processing I used Aperture 3, and did not do any photoshopping as I prefer pure landscape photography. I first processed this photo with full colours, and after that I decided to change it to b&w, which I did in NIK Silver Efex Pro. And after that I had my final product. Picture: Chris Tritt
