 'Shipwreck Cove'
On recent visit to the Greek island of Zakynthos, I captured this photograph. After quiet a difficult scramble over loose rock and dense vegetation in mid 30's degree c heat, leaning precariously over a steep cliff-face, the prize that I was presented-with will always remain with me for the rest of my life.
This photograph was originally captured by a photographer called Stavros Marmatakis in 1980's when he was staying in a house in the neighbourhood and expressed interest in the area and especially the Cove. He made his way to the cliff-top, where I captured my photograph and captured the scene with the wrecked ship called "Panayiotis" at the inaccessible Bay of Spirili. The only way to get onto this bay is by boat, but as he did find a way across the cliffs, so did I and the result is a shown.
