CMK 09012025 REPRO FREE NO FEE CORK'S FIRST LEGO LEAGUE WINNERS ANNOUNCED Eadaoin Buckley of the Whitechurch Wizards, Whitechurch NS. Team Technic Titans who were announced as overall winner of Cork's First LEGO League and qualify for the All Ireland Finals Many weeks of problem solving, team work and practical applications of science, technology and engineering came together at the First LEGO League Finals for Cork, hosted in University College this weekend (Sat. 8th February). Technic Titans were announced as overall winners of Cork's First LEGO League beating off stiff competition from 16 secondary and primary school teams from the Cork region. Technic Titans team will now go forward to represent Cork at the All Ireland First LEGO League Finals in April with a place at the European and World Championships up for grabs. The First LEGO League Finals were organised by Learn It/Creative Hut, the only official providers of LEGO education school workshops, teacher training and camps in Ireland. They provided all the equipment and support for the FIRST® LEGO® League mentoring sessions and events hosted by University College Cork. "Judging was very intense due to the high level of entries from Cork for the finals. Essentially First LEGO Leagues provides students with a fun way to engage in practical science, tech, engineering and math (STEM) applications through LEGO. We had great fun and look forward to working with even more schools in Cork next year to grow this amazing competition further to benefit more students,” said Olive Anne Horgan, Project Manager, Learn It. The FIRST® LEGO® League is a collaboration between Learn it Cork, Qualcomm and UCC School of Engineering and with supported by the Research Ireland Discover Programme in partnership with Irish delivery partner, CreativeHUT.
