James Grandfield Towering sunset
Dublin Airport's control towers at sunset, with the tip of an aircraft wing for extra measure. I wanted to try and capture the vibrancy of the night lights at the airport with a nice golden sky.

Stopping on my river walk, I spotted this lone Dandelion on a wall and angled my camera to make sure the background was dark so it would bring out more vibrant details of this amazing flower. River Dodder, near Ringsend, Dublin.

The end of May and the beginning of June, as you can feel on your own skin, finally brought us the longed-for sun and summer temperature.
A lot of sunshine and beautiful sunsets encouraged me to go out of town to visit interesting places, which I also took advantage of when going to Quin in Co.Clare. In addition to the magnificent, well-preserved remains of the abbey in Quin, my attention did not escape the lonely tree that grows right next to it and perfectly composed with the chestnut tree, quite popular in this region, to create this composition during the setting sun.

Famine Shoes
Along the Long Road Home famine walk there are pairs of shoes like these to highlight the 165km journey taken from Strokestown in Roscommon to Dublin by many in famine times. I enjoyed walking 2 sections of this walk last week in aid of Safeguarding Ireland. Photo: Mary Phelan
