Dave Hoey chatting with members of the public. Pic: Larry Cummins. Street pastors in Cork held a street event to mark 10 years of their work. Cork Street Pastors celebrated 10 years on the streets this summer and to publicise what we are about, we're holding a street "event" this coming Sat 24th Sept at the junction of Tuckey St and Grand Parade, from 4.00-pm to 9.00pm. The aim is to reach as wide a spectrum of people as possible about our availability for assisting those in difficulty, in the night time economy on Sat nights. We hope to engage with passers-by, many of whom are likely to be parents, some newcomers to the late night scene, recent school leavers, new college students, etc. It's a celebration of 10 years interacting with the late night community and the hospitality sector and letting people know where the thousands of flip flops came from that their daughters, sisters and girlfriends brought home after a night out in the city. Dave Hoey , Coordinator , Cork Street Pastors email.cork@streetpastors.org
