Camogie club players Chantelle O'Donoghue, Michelle Gould, Courtney O'Keeffe, Amy O'Connor and Lorna Coffey at the launch.
START>>>"St Vincent's Camogie Club are proud to announce that our camogie club is launching a fundraiser for Pieta House and Mna Feasa. For this we are asking and encouraging that all members and their families get involved. Since we cannot train together we are hoping to use this to stay in contact and give the girls a reason to be active.
What are we doing?
We have a camogie player Carol Geaney who is currently in the Lebanon with the army. Since we’re not sure when she can come home to us, we are going to walk, run, jog or crawl the distance to her! This is 5,400kms.
Each time you go for a walk or run, please let us know. That means that even if you did 1 km and three others in your family went with you, then that counts as 4kms! Each day you do it (it doesn’t matter how often as there’s no pressure on anyone) we need you to let the coach know the distance. That way we can keep track of the distance covered.
Each week on Facebook the distance will be marked out on the map to show everyone how far along the journey we are!
This is a great opportunity to get active, keep the club together and raise funds all at the same time.
Also we are asking you to take photos and send the photo of you on your walk to your coach or to the club facebook page so that we can feature you and your family on our journey as we go. The more the merrier.
So get out the club gear. Old and new members, supporters, family and community - let’s get going..
Carol we are on our way!!!!

Blue paint message says "K Dalgarno Fuck Ye All"

By Liam Heylin

A 43-year-old man allegedly sprayed the front of the Washington Street courthouse with graffiti in blue paint and then made no application for bail when charged.

The accused man was then remanded in custody for a week on the criminal damage charge.

Garda Nigel Desmond testified at Cork District Court that he arrested Kristian Dalgarno, 43, of no fixed address, at 11.19 a.m. yesterday morning on Little Hanover Street, off Washington Street, Cork.

Just over an hour later he was formally charged and cautioned that he did not have to make a reply but that anything he might say could be given in evidence. Garda Desmond said the defendant replied, “No comment.”

The charge stated that on April 16 at the courthouse on Washington Street, Cork, the defendant spray-painted blue graffiti on the front doors and walls of the courthouse on Washington Street, intentionally causing criminal damage or being reckless as to whether damage was caused.

Sergeant John Kelleher said there was an objection to bail being granted to the accused.

Frank Buttimer, solicitor, said that no application for bail was being advanced yesterday.

Judge Olann Kelleher remanded the accused in custody to appear at Cork District Court again on April 21.

Sgt. Kelleher said time was needed for directions to be obtained from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Buttimer applied for free legal aid for Dalgarno, stating, “He has no income and no address.” Judge Kelleher acceded to the free legal aid application.

Atlantic Flight Training Academy have moved all their flight training online during the Covid-19 pandemic. Normally the flight academy would have up to twenty aircraft operational, along with three flight simulators in use. Their two Cork hangars have aircraft stored indoors with additional aircraft on the tarmac outside, during this downtime.
The company also have two DA-42 Diamond twin engine planes ready and available for use by the HSE. The offer was made to facilitate the use of the aircraft for MEDIVAC purposes, urgent PPE delivery, or urgent HSE worker/staff deployment.
Atlantic Flight Training Academy aircraft are also in an adjacent hangar and 'tied down' on the tarmac at their facilty at Cork Airport. The company also operate from Waterford Regional Airport, and have three simulators at Little Island and classroom space at Cork Airport Business Park.
