Youghal Bay I witnessed incredible bravery this evening (07 Feb 2016) watching the crew of the Youghal pilot boat battleing terrible conditions in Youghal Bay to safetly bring in the cargo vessel Marc. The Marc had sailed from the port of Drogheda. Unlike pilot boats in larger ports, the Youghal pilot boat is a small boat and takes great skill to go out in all types of weather to safely bring cargo vessels into Youghal harbour.

Head in the clouds Heads in the clouds One evening while upstairs i noticed a yellow/orange color in the clouds, so i got the camera and took a few photo's as the clouds moved away into the distance, but when i was editing one of the photo's i noticed a strange shape, so i flipped the photo and i could clearly see the shape of a head/face, it looked like Luke Kelly of the Dubliners,I showed the photo to a friend of mine and asked him if he could see a head/face shape in the clouds, yes he said look at Frank Zappa,musician,songwriter,filmmaker, i said no it's Luke Kelly and the argument started and went on for about ten minutes, until I stood back and refocused on the photo and to my amazement I could see two heads/faces in the clouds, the only thing i did to the photo was crop it a little and slightly increase the light to show up Luke's bushy hair. As you can see the trees are on the left of the photo as i flipped it around for a better view of the clouds,I hope you can see the images as this was just a freak photo shot. Taken with a standard 18-55 kit lens on a Nikon D3100

Tea Time "Tea Time". Cooked up in the house with sub-zero February temperatures in Indiana, I decided to get creative with the camera. Drinking a lot of tea gave me the idea for the photograph.

DSC 0107 Mirror in the eye of the storm. This photo was taken in January 2016 in the midst of the winter storms on a singularly calm day at Tarrea Harbour, Kinvara, Co Galway and looking over towards the Burren in Co Clare. The sun was in the process of setting so the sky was becoming deep blue, but there was still a lot of light around to get the mirror-like reflections. I couldn't believe how beautiful the day was and that no-one was around enjoying it. Bliss for me and a great photo opportunity. Photographer Laura Burke.
