Mam & Eils 5th Aug 2013 Watching the World Go By This photo was taken of my nan - Nora Prendergast and her sister my Gran Aunt - Eileen Walsh August Bank Holiday Monday Aug 5th 2013 in Youghal, Co Cork. They loved to holiday there every August weekend and as we swam and played on the beach they sat and watched over us and generally watched the world go by. This picture is all the more special now as my grand aunt Eileen was too sick to go this year and passed away last Saturday morning Sept 6th - this is a very special moment in time for me. IMG 0583 Penn and cygnets, Reading, UK, 22/6/14. I chose the swan and her cygnets for my subject as I had seen her the evening before with four of her young; they were the only family in the immediate area. I knew that swans were able to carry their young on their back however I had never actually seen it first hand. I returned the following day only to find she only had three little ones now. I was heartbroken.
