International strudents from Botswana adjusting to wet wintry conditiona in Cork City on Wednesday 12th February 2025. Valentine's weekend is set to be cold and wet, with Met Éireann issuing status yellow rain warnings for Cork and Waterford. The national forecaster issued the alert for Cork on Thursday morning, and it will kick in at 1pm today. It will be in place until 8am on Friday. It warns: "Spells of heavy rain in south Cork through this afternoon (Thursday), evening and overnight." Possible impacts of the showers include spot flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions. For Waterford, the warning will be in place from 6pm on Thursday and remain in place until midday on Friday. Pic Larry Cummins
