The sabre dance. I'd never come across one of these amazing creatures before this August. 80mm long including its ovipositor it is a parasite on the giant wood wasp. Once it had laid its eggs deep within the tree trunk it did this beautiful manouevre where it seemed to zip its ovipositor back into its sheath. Photo taken 10/09/2022 in my garden by Andrew Malcolm
