Croom Post Mistress Ann Cagney looking at a picture of her grand-aunt Julia Walsh who once owned the Post Office building on High Street, Croom, Co Limerick. The building then known as the Arcade was a drapery, boot, and shoe warehouse situated on High Street next to the former Croom Hotel. Ann along with her husband Martin are retiring from the business on the 29th of April after fifty years of service. The Post office will move to the Spar shop on Main Street in Croom. Ann left school after completing her junior cert in 1971 and worked in the Post Office helping her mother Rita Hogan. She was taken on full-time in 1978, and a number of years her husband Martin was appointed her assistant. Picture Dan Linehan
