Watching me watching you
This photo was taken on the river Dodder in Dublin, a river rich in biodiversity and home to a wide variety of birds and mammals. By using a long lens and a wide aperture on the camera settings and focusing on the kingfisher alone, I tried to convey a sense of menace as the eye of the viewer moves across the frame to realise that the beautiful bird is under observation from behind.
