View of the Pier (beside the Pier Road (R600) at Kinsale, Co. Cork. Fishermen tend to their nets, as a leisure boat undegoes some 'anti-fouling' maintainence on the pier. The fishermen are from the trawler 'Rachel Jay', a Kinsale-based trawler, which undertakes herring fishing, as part of its quota. The image is for comparison with the old photo of the herring 'drifter' fishing boats tied up at the pier with women working salting and storing the fish in wooden barrels.
