Cork Education and Training Board, Cork City Council, University College Cork and Cork Institute of Technology were all visited by Education Officials from the South Korean city of Siheung on a Learning City Study Visit to Cork. An aim of this official visit was to hear from Cork ETB Adult Education Officer, Ms. Ger Canning, and representatives from each of the other organisations, to take away key lessons in Cork’s success as a Learning City, recognised with an International Award by UNESCO in 2015. Recently Cork were awarded the honour of hosting the UNESCO Global Conference on Learning Cities next September 2017, which these Korean delegates hope to make the trip back to attend.
