Bill Ryan, Ballincollig with his DKW Autounion F800 Schnellaster Van (a rapid delivery van/transporter). These vans have been described as the 'mother of all modern minivans'. His father had two of the vans, in use as mobile chip-vans and he learnt to drive in one, at age 14years. He is an active member of the DKW Owners' Club. DKW had a manufacturing factory located in Ballincollig, formerly located on the site of the present-day Aldi retail store.
