Spyhopping Minke Whale
A very inquisitive juvenile Minke Whale 'spyhopping' off the West Cork Coast, a few miles out of Union hall. This young minke whale, in the company of what was most likely its mother close by, showed a lot of interest in the boat and approached when the engines were switched off. It swam around the boat numerous times checking us out and eventually raised its head out of the water to view the curious whalewatchers. One wonders who was watching whom
