On our way home from Cork on Sunday, 4 of us decided that we would detour via Carlow to photograph something that has been on my wish list for quite some time - "The Lonely Tree, Carlow".
This has to be the most photographed tree in Ireland as I have seen numerous versions of this image captured in all seasons. So we thought it was a matter of banking this image to add to our collection.
What we didn't expect was a little surprise on our arrival.
Due to the "sunny storms" a rainbow appeared directly above the tree and this was the result . . .
