Fifth-class teacher Aileen Howick, St. John the Baptist NS, Midleton with Midleton county champion hurlers Aidan Ryan, Paul Haughney and Shane Ryan with pupils Jonny Hall and Alannah Drennan showing off postcards from their range, which includes a team photo of the Cork County Champions. The class is taking part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP). Jim Barry, Managing Director of Barry Group (which is responsible for the Costcutter franchise in Ireland) has teamed up with the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) as sponsor to bring this exciting new initiative to primary schools in Cork city and county. The class held a Dragon’s Den with Seán Gallagher in January and since then the children have set up their own business, 'Midleton’s Eye Postcards', which are now on sale in shops around Midleton. They invested their own money and are delighted as they have managed to make a profit.
They held a Showcase Day in the school hall on Thurs 10th April 2014.
